Why is it we're taught from a young age to take care of our teeth--brush twice a day and floss--but very little if anything about taking care of our emotional wellness, our happiness, and our resiliency?

Over the last 30 years, I have, through trial and error, found effective ways to manage my anxiety, overcome depression, and maintain my emotional and mental equilibrium. I use/have used emotional aromatherapy, yoga, meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy concepts, common sense, medication, supplements, nutrition, exercise, talk therapy, and neuroscience to maintain my emotional balance. 

And I realized how much I've learned! And how much other's need to learn it, too.

From one average human being to another, I'm here to share my personal experience. I'm not a doctor or a licensed therapist. I am merely another human looking to minimize pain and suffering in this life and maximize joy, satisfaction, and happiness. That's not to say "negative" emotions are wrong or can or should be eliminated, but they don't have to rule our lives.

When I teach a yoga class, I often get questions about how yoga has helped me with emotional balance, as well as physical health. 

When I do presentations on essential oils, I'm often asked which oils have been the most helpful in learning to manage emotional responses.

When I share with a friend how adjusting my nutritional intake has supported an overall sense of wellbeing, she inevitably wants to know my "plan".

The simple answer is what I do changes day by day, but there are routines and specifics I turn to as the weather of my emotions changes.

Sometimes life's storms are so intense, I have to buckle down and ride them out, but I always have tools I can turn to when I need them. Having a toolbox full of ideas and actions I can take has been half the battle.

And yes, sometimes, it is a battle to stay even-keeled.

There are some very simple answers to how to maintain emotional balance, but it is also a very personal journey.

And that's what this website/blog is all about.
